Fund of Funds Special Terms for ISA and PEP Investors
With over 2,000 Unit Trusts/OEIC’s
to invest in (Source: Standard & Poor’s Micropal January
2005) in addition to the numerous Investment Trusts and Insurance
Funds available, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the private
investor to know where to invest.
The problem is compounded by the nervousness many investors still
feel following the bear market of 2000 – 2003. There has been
an encouraging recovery in most markets but the question on most
investors mind is - where to invest now?
We find that given the choice most investors would opt for the following
facilities:
A strategically balanced portfolio of hand selected funds
to ensure that overall performance is more consistent.
Permanent monitoring of the portfolio to ensure that exposure
to various markets sectors and individual funds is emphasised
on those that offers the greatest potential for growth.
A portfolio with a specific strategy in line with the investors’
requirements and investment objective.
Fund of Funds provide the above attractions and in most
investment cases may well provide a solution.
Fund of Funds effectively provide a portfolio of Unit Trust/OEIC’s
that may contain 20-30 different unit trusts within the convenience
of one single fund. This eliminates the mountain of paperwork often
associated with a large balanced portfolio. Like many funds investing
in equity or bonds, the value of your investment and the income
provided may fall as well as rise, and accordingly you may not get
back the full value of your investment. However, we believe that
the added value of having your holdings monitored on a daily basis
and being switched to more attractive funds and sectors when is
deemed necessary, will decreases the risk of loss and increases
the chance of gain.
We have selected a specialist Fund of Funds manager and made available
advantageous dealing terms for a limited period for those investors
wishing to transfer existing holdings of ISA’s or PEP’s
into this convenient method of investing.
